Remembering our Angel, Baby Chase Milton Walker…………

But we were comforted to know that we did not have to face this alone.

On this day, October 16, 1984, I gave birth to our angel.  Due to medical complications, Chase Milton Walker, was born prematurely. Weighing at just 1 pound 5 ounces and 13 inches long we met our little angel. He was beautiful. He had strong shoulders like his Daddy. We had him for a very short time, about two hours because his lungs were not working as they should, but he lives in our hearts forever.

My husband and I were so young when Chase was born, but we had the support of family, friends and our church to help us through this very tough time. It is essential to have a great support system when you are going through circumstances that you do not understand .  For a long time I wondered, what if…and ran all sorts of scenarios through my mind.  There are no answers as to why these things happen.    We had Faith and were comforted to know that we did not have to face this alone.  Psalm 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield…..”  Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength…..”

Today marks his 31st birthday.  Our family will visit his resting place at the cemetery in a special area that is just for babies and children.  We have made this a tradition and as each grandchild is born into our family they are introduced to Chase as well. Their Uncle in Heaven.

As the years go by the memories of the events of this day begin to fade. But our forever bond and our deep love for our son is always with us and will never fade away.  Our Baby, our Son, our Angel in Heaven.

This year Chase has both of his Grandfathers with him, Grandpa Bob and Grandpa Charlie.  It has been pretty tough, but we are comforted by the fact that they are in Heaven and we know will all be together again one day.
